St. Luke's Care Ministry

St. Luke's Care Ministry seeks to extend the love of Christ to those who extend the love of Christ to those whose celebrations, sadness and transition impact their lives. We include in this ministry of prayer, prayer for ourselves, for others, for the community and for the world.   We include care for those limited by age or circumstance to their homes in visitation and correspondence.  We include the ministry of listening and caring in a one and one relationship, through trained Stephen Ministers.  We include the service of Holy Communion as we share the Lord's Table serving one another in spirit of humility and generosity.  Lovely prayer bracelets shared through the generosity of Stacy's Hope offer tangible care and reinforcement of God's presence.  Finally, any issues of health, life choices, relationships and spiritual growth that might warrant a private conversation with Rev. Linda Brinkworth can be scheduled for a prayerful time of hope and care.  If you feel called to participate in our ministry, please fill out one of the forms listed below, or contact Rev. Linda Brinkworth at lbrinkworth@stlukesokc.org.

To Request A Stephen Minister

Are you going through a difficult time?

Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who listen, care, encourage and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are facing a crisis or going through tough times.  The care you'll receive is confidential, free, and very helpful.  To learn how you or a friend, neighbor, coworker, or relative can receive care contact Rev. Linda Brinkworth at lbrinkworth@stlukesokc.org, or 405.232.1371.

Host/Hostess for Funeral Receptions

Every year our church family experiences loss to death.  Some families request a reception before or after the funeral so that guests can visit and continue the celebration of life.  If you feel God has called you to this ministry, we have two different opportunites that you can be a part of.

Your gift of time: We are in need of host/hostess to set up, serve and clean up after the reception.  Time commitment for each funeral is about three hours.  If you are interested in serving on a rotational schedule, please contact Rev. Linda Brinkworth at lbrinkworth@stlukesokc.org or 405-232-1371.

Your financial gift: Any financial contribution to help with the expense of the reception.  We usually serve cookies and  punch for about 50 -70 people.
